Music has always been my favorite way to memorize things. Whether it be a test, or even what section of the parking lot I left my car, a little melody always helps me remember what I need to.

I still remember the 50 U.S. states in alphabetical order from a song my teacher taught me in elementary school. In fact, that teacher was my aunt and, true story, she recently won a bet with my uncle when she asked me to recite the song from memory- a test I aced.

That’s why I created Study Anthems. As a 7th grade teacher of over 10 years, I’ve found ways to integrate music into my classroom and it has not only become a valuable test-prep tool, but also something the students look forward to and ask for again and again.
